The path out, in three moves

1 · Find

Locate every copy and lock down the evidence: URLs, dated screenshots, archived pages. This protects you and your case before anything gets deleted.

Find & preserve copies →

2 · Report

Report it to the platform and to Google, and register intimate images with StopNCII or Take It Down so partner sites remove matching copies automatically.

How to report it →

3 · Remove

Use your legal rights, including the 48-hour TAKE IT DOWN Act removal, and escalate to a lawyer or removal service only if copies keep coming back.

Questions people ask first

How do I remove a deepfake of myself?
Start by saving evidence (the URL and dated screenshots), then report it to the platform hosting it and to Google Search. For intimate images, register the image with StopNCII (adults) or Take It Down (if you were under 18) so partner platforms remove matching copies. Our removal guide and the action-plan tool above walk you through it in order.
Is it free to get a deepfake taken down?
Yes. The most effective first steps, platform reports, Google’s removal request, StopNCII and Take It Down, are all free. Paid removal services exist, but you should always try the free and official routes first.
How long does it take to remove a deepfake?
It varies. In the US, the TAKE IT DOWN Act requires covered platforms to remove reported non-consensual intimate images, including deepfakes, within 48 hours. Some platforms act faster; others can take longer. Hashing tools keep working in the background to catch new copies.
Can a deepfake ever be completely removed from the internet?
Be cautious of anyone who promises a 100% scrub. You usually cannot guarantee every copy is gone, but you can remove it from the major platforms and search results where it does the most harm, and keep catching re-uploads. Honest help beats false promises.
Is this website a removal service I have to pay for?
No. We are an independent, free public-interest guide. We point you to the official tools and your legal rights first, and we’re honest about when paid help is and isn’t worth it.
